Directed,produced, filmed and edited by Ben Clayton. The second video from I Plead Irony‘s album “This Statement Is False”. This video took two days to shoot. It involves a fair bit of time manipulation and I had to stand very still for a lot of it.

The first video from I Plead Irony‘s album “This Statement Is False”. This video took about three days to shoot. It has a heap of post-production on it in the form of visual effects and titles and it almost never happened due to a technical fault. There’s A Party In My Head (And I’m Not Invited) – Atomic Garden

The first video from Atomic Garden‘s album “Arco Iris”. This video took two days to shoot (Basically the whole weekend!). The idea is loosely based on Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde mainly because I had black and white t-shirts lying around. And yes, I did have to climb into a bin!
Realtime LoFi Entertainment – Random Tuft

Shot on my trusty old Sony DCR-HC35 Handycam. This video was shot using the ‘one day’ rule that Ben invented. Basically the video must be shot in one day, with minimal prep and with no budget. I came up with the idea for this on the morning we were to shoot it. I thought people would rather see cuddly toys than my ugly mug. It turns out its still a cult favourite. So clearly I know something even if it is only that I’m not as entertaining as a bear.

Shot on my trusty old Sony DCR-HC35 Handycam. This video was also shot under the using the ‘one day’ rule. The idea? That a crazy drumming tramp would follow me round town until I ditched my corporate existence and then we ultimately team up to jam into the sunset. Nothing odd about that!
This Is Madness – The Fins

While my filmmaker buddy Ben was traveling the globe I had to fend for myself to make a video to promote The Fins album “And When You Get To The End…”. Luckily another good friend of mine Dave Vokes had recently taken a photo shoot of the band a few weeks back. I managed to cobble together this video from that shoot and some more photos that Dave took of us when we played Ascot Racecourse supporting Supergrass. Job done!
Who Are You – The Fins

Shot on my trusty old Sony DCR-HC35 Handycam. Possibly the most ludicrous thing I’ve ever filmed. Another one using the ‘one day’ rule. However this time I was on my own. Luckily if you put Lawrence in front of a camera he will normally do something entertaining. The concept? Make a video with absolutely no script (how very 1980’s). The result? Well as you can see that’s why most videos have scripts these days!
Adaptor – The Fins

Starring Joseph Cappellazzi as the man heading for an interview with The Fins. This masterpiece of a video took two days to film. Ben brought in a bunch of friends from the film industry to help with it. It was the biggest production crew we have ever had and it also had the longest list of extras (our friends we brought along for the ride).

The first Fins music video ever made. It took 2 days. I also made a “making of” video but that is another story. It shows how the band get to rehearsal…and none of it is true. Especially the fact that Ryan would get there first. Singers eh?
